Faithful Friday – Friday 10 July 2020

Here is the Faithful Friday word for you today!

Faithful Friday is an initiative from our clergy to further explore the Word of God and to reconnect people with Bible verses.

Please feel free to reflect on what each passage means to you and let us know if any of the passages inspire you.

Blog post by David Hildred:

If you’ve been following the daily readings through this week, from Luke’s gospel 17-19, you will have travelled with the disciples of Jesus as they heard him teach some shocking truths. There was a shock for the disciples themselves: Jesus said he was to be killed, but he would rise again. At that time they didn’t understand, they didn’t know what he was talking about. It only made sense once they had experienced the cross and met the risen Lord Jesus. The same is true for us: many things in the Bible don’t make sense until we look at them in the light of the cross and the resurrection of Jesus. As we read his word may it lead to a closer meeting today with the risen Lord Jesus.
