Faithful Friday – Friday 18 September 2020

Here is the Faithful Friday word for you today!

Faithful Friday is an initiative from our clergy to further explore the Word of God and to reconnect people with Bible verses

Please feel free to reflect on what each passage means to you and let us know if any of the passages inspire you.

Blog post by David Hildred:

We are reading this week about Solomon and his wisdom, and now he is engaged in building the Temple that was to be known as God’s dwelling place (with the cloud in our final reading this week being an indicator of God’s presence).  Your Bible might describe the measurements in cubits, which was usually the distance from elbow to middle-fingertip, but why are there so many precise measurements that are written for us?  Could it be because God’s plan for the place of sacrifice, of restored fellowship with God, of cleansing and renewal is very precise (have a look at John 2:19-21)?  The temple was unique.
