Faithful Friday – Friday 19 June 2020

Here is the Faithful Friday word for you today!

Faithful Friday is an initiative from our clergy to further explore the Word of God and to reconnect people with Bible verses

Please feel free to reflect on what each passage means to you and let us know if any of the passages inspire you.

Blog post from Revd Robert Legge:

As a child I used to know when my dad had had a bad day at work. When he came in he would throw his overcoat from around his arm straight into my mothers arms! It was done humorously and with a smile but it reminds me of this idea of casting something on to someone else.

My mother never minded; after thirty years of marriage she was ready to catch whatever flying coat came her way! In the same way God is ready, willing and able to catch any anxieties we have, to hold them in His arms for us and to take the weight and pressure off us. Strange as it may seem to throw things at God, he asks us to do so therefore let’s do it!
