1 Corinthians 11
Perhaps we thought it very arrogant of Paul back in 4:16 to say “imitate me”, but now we hear it’s because he is imitating Christ. There is a lot going on in the Corinthian church which is characterised as “I won’t be told what to do: I want to do what I want to do”. Even when celebrating the Lord’s Supper (what we would call Holy Communion) they manage to get it wrong. Once again Paul challenges them to behave in such a way (whether praying or meeting together) that they show Jesus is central, and, that they take thought for other believers. Any suggestions for how we can do better at this?
