St Chad’s Church, Burcher Green, Kidderminster, DY10 3AY
St Chad’s is a lively and varied group of people gathered from the local Comberton and Offmore communities, and further afield. We seek to be a caring, welcoming and relevant church, aiming to learn more about Jesus and show His love to all. The building is non-listed and situated in Burcher Green, Kidderminster. The original church (now the Church Hall), was built in 1956, as a daughter church of St. George’s in Kidderminster. At the rear of the church there is a grass area, which belongs to the church, often used for United Services and other events when the weather permits.
St Chad’s is a church that wants to share God’s word and love within the congregation but also to share it with the community and bring us together. During the uncertain times surrounding COVID-19, we have still met for homegroups via Zoom, as well as the Sunday Parish services, which has been a comfort to a lot of people. With your gift, it will help us buy resources and support us in spreading God’s good works.
Sunday morning services start at 9:30 am and aim to be accessible to those not used to church, and accommodate the full range of ages. They aim to be informal and interactive. The singing is led by a music group and we enjoy a range of styles from modern to traditional.
St Chad’s also has an active Prayer Ministry which takes place during every service.
Please see our Services and Calendar pages for more information regarding when the next service will take place.
The church has a hearing aid loop. There are two car parks – one each side of the church – with space for about 20 cars. Accessibility is via ramps at the church entrance and the hall entrance suitable for wheelchair access. There are two steps from the hall to the church where a portable ramp is used. Toilets are situated at the hall entrance, with baby changing facilities and a comfort height toilet with handrails.
Life Events (Christenings, Weddings, and Funerals) are available by arrangement. Please see the individual pages for further details.
In the week, the hall is used by over 250 adults and young people from the local community, plus occasional party bookings and other community groups who meet on a monthly basis.
Groups using the hall at present include: Sunday School, Kidderminster East Youth Group (KEY), Cafe Chad, a Baby and Toddler Group, Rainbows, Brownies, Senior Fellowship, Dance classes, and monthly WI & U3A groups.
