2 Samuel 1
‘…how the mighty have fallen’ is a phrase often used at the decline of a once great person. The phrase is from 2 Samuel chapter 1 (see vs 17-27) and is spoken by David at the death in battle of King Saul and David’s great friend Jonathan. Grief is a horrible feeling and can be a terrible pain in our souls. David, soon to become king after Saul, mourned. He wrote a lament for Saul and Jonathan. Lament is a prayer in pain that leads to trust in God. Through lament we can grieve well and praise God through our sorrows. Is there a lament you need to pray that will help you heal?
