Acts 15
In the early part of this week we joined Paul and Barnabas on what is known as the ‘first missionary journey’, noting how the proclamation of the good news of Jesus divided those who hear it, and how it challenged that long established religion of the Greeks with their many gods. In this chapter there is the wonderful clarification that we don’t have to become Jews to become Christians, but that there are some ways of living out the faith that are common to all backgrounds. This then sets up Paul and Silas to set off on a ‘second missionary journey’ to share the good news and to see it lived out.
