Luke 10
This week it’s more than just the Twelve who are sent out; it’s a wider group of unnamed disciples. Are we yet convinced that this is part of the normal routine for followers of Jesus? We are those who have good news to share; good news of the kingdom, which is ultimately good news about the King. Earlier this week we saw how the key to the ministry of Jesus is to discover who he is. This is the essence of the good news we share, that the Messiah (Christ) has come, that we have a Saviour, that there is one whom it is safe to serve as Lord and King. What a responsibility it is though, to realise that if someone rejects us and our message they are ultimately rejecting Jesus and the one who sent him. Let’s deliver that message in the best way we can.
