Luke 11
Jesus’ words in Luke 11:29-36 show us that spiritual blindness is rarely about missing evidence. It’s about the condition of the heart. We often live in the “if only” space. If only God would give me a clearer sign, then I would forgive, change, trust or serve him. But Jesus spoke this to people who had seen miracles firsthand, and still they asked for more. He points to Nineveh and the Queen of Sheba—people with far less evidence who responded with repentance and faith. The issue was never that God was hiding. The issue was resistant hearts. Darkness feels safe because it hides what we don’t want to face. The light of Christ exposes, and that can feel uncomfortable if we haven’t decided to follow Him fully. Jesus calls us to fix our inner vision by turning to Him without divided loyalty. Today the choice remains: will we stay in the shadows, or walk into the light of Christ, in whom there is no darkness?
