Mark 9
In the previous chapter a blind man is healed by Jesus in two stages. First he can see, then he can see clearly. In the incidents that follow Mark points out a number of people who ‘see’ Jesus in part, but who haven’t seen him fully yet, beginning with Peter who ‘sees’ Jesus is the Christ, but doesn’t understand how he is to fulfil the job of being the Christ. Then there is the boy’s father who ‘believes’, but recognises that there are areas of unbelief within him that yet need addressing. Let’s be those who journey on expecting our ‘seeing of Jesus’ to grow and deepen.
