Here we are in the last few days of the Christmas season before we slip into Epiphany and we read in this chapter (and tomorrow the next chapter) some revealing reactions to the arrival of Jesus. These reactions, of course, are no longer to the arrival of a baby, but to the start of the public ministry of the one who was given. There is John’s deference to the Greater One, his repeated revelation of the Lamb of God, Andrew’s response to the call, and his zeal in sharing that Jesus is the Messiah, Nathanael’s surprise, and his declaration of worship. May this end of the Christmas season be full of our similar reactions.
