Romans 16
We’ve been through some densely packed chapters with Paul, with some intricately argued lines of theology, and now as we head towards the end of the letter there seems to be a lighter touch, but his words are still rooted in theology. He is at pains to show that the Gentiles are rightly included in the family of the church, and that is evidenced by all the non-Jewish sounding names in the final chapter. Let’s note the variety of groupings – from individuals to households to what sound like small churches (homegroups?). Let’s note the variety of ways Paul wants to comment on their contribution to the life of faith. Is there a phrase you could use to encourage someone else today?
