Isaiah 3
The prophet Isaiah is given words for the kingdom of Judah (2 tribes) around the time that the kingdom of Israel (10 tribes) is overrun and scattered. The Lord wants his nation back, to be a holy nation once again, but Israel is beyond hope, and here now are warnings for Judah to give them a chance to return to the Lord. Through it all there are messages of hope (such as 1:18-20) that the Lord will send the One who will put things right (such as 4:2, the Branch). Will Judah respond, or will they run off in their own ways? The same question is put to us in terms of our response to the Lord through the Saviour.
