Philippians 3
It’s a challenge to sum up a biblical letter in just a few words, but maybe the last verse of today’s reading does it. Paul expresses his immense love for the Philippian believers in his desire to see them stand firm in the Lord Jesus. Earlier parts of the letter speak of the opposition they faced, which appears to be both from within and without the church, and his way of resisting such opposition is to focus on the Lord Jesus. We are encouraged to see what he has given up for us and let that be our inspiration as we follow the One who is Lord over all, and in whom we can rejoice and find our strength for every situation. May our spirits be lifted up as we finish reading this letter this week.
