Acts 18:1 – 21
This passage offers a vivid portrait of Paul’s perseverance, adaptability, and reliance on God’s guidance amid constant change and challenge. The passage shows him forging new relationships—such as with Aquila and Priscilla—finding common ground through shared work and faith. Paul’s determination to share the gospel, even when rejected, is inspiring; his response to opposition is not bitterness but a clear sense of mission, shifting to the Gentiles when the message is resisted by some Jews. The Lord’s reassurance in the vision calls us to courage and trust, reminding us that God is present even in adversity. Paul’s lengthy stay in Corinth demonstrates that fruitful ministry often takes time and patience. Despite conflict, God’s promise sustains him. The episode with Gallio illustrates that faith sometimes sits uneasily with legal or societal norms, yet God’s plans move forward. Paul’s farewell encourages us to entrust our future to God’s will, serving faithfully in all seasons.
