Luke 22
The roller-coaster of events in this last week of the life of Jesus has hit the point of no return as everything gathers pace towards landing Jesus on the cross, but this is no runaway carriage: Jesus is still firmly in control of his own destiny. He steps into this chapter of his life willingly and with great purpose in mind. He does not allow his disciples to turn into an avenging mob. He copes with those same disciples (including Peter) deserting him. He answers the questions of Herod and Pilate succinctly and truthfully. This is our Saviour on the way to the cross for us; this is holy ground.
