Exodus 6
Did God choose the right person, Moses, to lead his people out of slavery from Egypt? At the beginning of this week we read how easily he murdered an Egyptian and how he wasn’t wanted by his own people. We also read that he didn’t really know God: his question at the sight of the burning bush was essentially, “Well, who are you, God?” Then he comes up with all sorts of excuses as to why he couldn’t do what God said he should, one of them being “I’m not any good at public speaking”. In today’s chapter, though, God is very clear he will work through this hesitant, imperfect leader: note how many times God says “I will, I will, I will …”. What is the “I will” that God speaks into our lives today?
