Isaiah 11
The Lord’s people are to face the Lord’s judgement (9:8) for turning away from his ways, for not remaining his holy people; his judgement will come through the hands of the king of Assyria (who also falls under the Lord’s judgement, 10:5). But this is all about restoring God’s people to himself, and so there will be a remnant who return (10:20). In 11:1 there is another mention of the Branch, the One who will come to the rescue, and it will result in songs of praise to the Lord. It’s a prophecy for the people of that day, as well as it being a prophecy that is fulfilled in Jesus, and one that we will discover the fulness of when Jesus returns.
