Deuteronomy 33
There’s a change-over in leadership: Moses has brought them out of Egypt and Joshua will lead them into their Promised Land. As with any change in leadership there is the danger of the focus being lost as the ‘new broom’ comes in and sweeps away the past, but the Lord is focused on keeping his people as his people, even though he knows the state of their hearts. There is here a series of blessings that follow on from the warnings in the chapters before: God brings both before his people – he loves as he disciplines. Shall we listen out for both as the Lord works with us, his people of today?
