Isaiah 41.
It’s a big prophecy to get a handle on, but here in this part of the book of Isaiah we are encouraged to ponder the immensity of our God, his vastness, his infinity, such that he is more than any match for any situation we face. The prophet points out how often we settle for gods that are less than nothing: idols, models, made in our own image. Instead we are called to wonder at the grace the Almighty God shows us and how that is brought to us through the one called his ‘servant’. He comes to lift up, to restore, and as we enter the season of Advent we know that his name is Jesus!
