2 Samuel 23: 1 – 7
It has been said that 2024 is a year of elections – including the UK of course! How should those in government with such power be, and how might we pray for them? In the last words of David we read: ‘When one rules over people in righteousness, when he rules in the fear of God, he is like the light of morning at sunrise on a cloudless morning, like the brightness after rain that brings grass from the earth.’ Perhaps we might use these words to pray for those in authority across the world, knowing they, like David and ourselves, can be used by God.
