Luke 12
Our readings this week have included a serious set of challenges for Jesus’s followers. Amongst many things, he’s spoken about the need to be ready for his return, about being careful in the way we exercise the responsibilities he gives us and he reminds us in the parable of the rich fool that our lives must not be defined by our material possessions. Whilst it’s important for us to take all these challenges seriously, we can draw both comfort and encouragement from the Lord’s deep love and care for all of us. He clothes the lilies and feeds the birds, and promises to supply all our needs. Thank you, Lord – and please help us each day to seek first your kingdom (Luke 12: 31).
