Daniel 3
Daniel 3 reminds us that God’s presence is often most real in the moments we fear the most. Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego are thrown into a furnace meant to end their lives, yet they stand firm, trusting that God is still with them. They do not know how God will act, but they rest in His faithfulness. In the fire, something extraordinary happens: a fourth figure appears beside them. God does not watch from a distance; He steps into the flames with His people. When they emerge, not even the smell of smoke clings to them. This story gently reassures us that the fires we face — grief, worry, illness, uncertainty — are not places of abandonment. They are places where Christ draws near. The heat may be real, but His presence is stronger. Whatever we walk through, we do not walk alone. Our Emmanuel.
