Titus 3
In the selected passage from Titus 3, Paul is encouraging believers to be obedient to law and authorities, and to be ready for good works. He urges them not to slander anyone, to be peaceable, considerate, and gentle towards all. Paul reminds his readers that before coming to faith, they too were foolish, disobedient, and led astray by their own desires. However, salvation came not because of their own righteous deeds, but because of God’s mercy, through the renewal of the Holy Spirit. This transformation leads them to devote themselves to doing what is good, which is beneficial for everyone. Paul’s teaching is to focus on living out faith through good deeds, harmony, and kindness, rather than getting lost in controversies.
