Luke 22.
It might look like the plots of others will succeed, but Jesus is very firmly in control: he has made advance arrangements (with a man and his water jar being the signal) for where his disciples are to celebrate the Passover. The way Jesus led the meal enabled him to reframe the whole celebration so that it became focused on him and his sacrifice and the release from slavery to sin that the cross won. For the Christian no longer would the Passover simply be about the escape of the ancient Israelites from Egypt. His teaching in chapter 21 about the signs of the end of the age indicates this is so much more than a local festival getting a re-branding: it is the fulfilment of God’s global and cosmic plans. Through grace we are invited to step into that fulfilment!
