John 14
On this feast day of Philip and James, we are reminded of the importance of faith, trust, and seeking deeper understanding of Christ. The passage from John 14 shows us Philip’s desire to know and see the Father, and Jesus’ response reveals that knowing Him is truly knowing God. This encourages us to reflect on our relationship with Jesus, recognising that He is the way, the truth, and the life—our guide to the Father and source of spiritual assurance. We also learn from their example that questioning, searching, and striving for clarity are part of the journey of faith. James and Philip’s presence in the early Church reminds us to remain steadfast and to support one another, especially when facing uncertainty or doubt. Today, we are invited to trust in Christ’s promises, to believe that He prepares a place for us, and to carry out His works in the world with humility and hope, just as these apostles did. Happy feast day!!
