Galatians 5
Allow the Holy Spirit to guide our actions, attitudes, and decisions each day. When we live by the Spirit, as Paul encourages, we become more aware of opportunities to show love, kindness, patience, gentleness, and self-control in our interactions with others. These gifts are not simply for personal benefit, but are meant to build up the Church, create harmony, and reflect God’s character in the world around us. By being attentive to the Spirit’s prompting and choosing to act in ways that bear the fruit described by Paul—love, joy, peace, patience, and so on—we help to create an environment where others can experience God’s goodness. In this way, the gifts of the Spirit become a daily practice, shaping both our lives and the lives of those we encounter.
