Colossians 3
Paul wrote these instructions to the church at Colossae to address issues related to unity, behaviour, and relationships among believers. There were concerns about false teachings and disputes within the church, so Paul wanted to encourage the community to live in harmony, act with kindness and forgiveness, and follow Christ’s example in their daily lives. His guidance aimed to strengthen Christian families and promote peace, love, and thankfulness among all members of the church. By providing practical advice for different groups—wives, husbands, children, fathers, slaves, and masters—Paul sought to resolve tensions and help believers understand their roles and responsibilities in a way that reflected their faith. This was to ensure that the church remained strong and faithful despite any challenges or disagreements they faced. May we continually return to the scriptures and thoughtfully read them, seeking guidance for our lives and the well-being of Christ’s Church. Amen
