Luke 20.
Jesus orchestrated his entry into Jerusalem in a way that was like sending up a flare saying “Look at me, here I am: The King”. There were those who were ready to hail him as king, but as the week goes on there are those who were orchestrating his demise. His teaching and his actions reflect the final parable we read last week and its stark reality. It is heading for a deadly choice that the people will make when it comes to Jesus. Yet through it all he encourages the people to take up God’s agenda of being fruitful, of giving glory to God, and of looking forward to participating in the resurrection to eternal life … all made possible by this King.
