Mark 12

The clash between the values of the Kingdom and those of the world are seen in this week’s passages, and even the clash with the values of the religious leaders. They intensify their attacks on him, questioning his authority, trying to trick him with questions about taxes and resurrection. Jesus points out how nothing of his ministry will make sense until we accept that his authority to say and do these things is a direct authority from God. The religious people of his day had stopped being fruitful for God and were straying into their own fruitless avenues. Let’s be those who build with the given cornerstone/capstone and “render unto God what is God’s”.
